We went to a party this weekend, hosted by a person that works with The Duke. The party was at their house. When you have a party at your house do you clean first? How often do you scrub your toilets? Do you sit on your ass attached to your computer the entire time the guests are there?
All last week I wanted to cancel. Looking back I see that cancelling would have left me without blog fodder.
Ugh, the party was a huge bust from the start. We showed up at the specified time to discover that all of the other invitees were smarter than us and cancelled. Keep in mind that I had never met these people before. The wife proceeded to sit on her laptop playing a game the entire time we were there, except when she was playing pass the baby with her husband. I don’t think she ever spoke directly to me.
The husband was okay except he kept badgering The Duke to bring alcohol. You guessed it, they are younger and cannot yet buy alcohol legally. Had he wanted it to party and just have a good time then maybe we would have taken it, but no. He specifically wanted it to get his wife drunk so they could have “porn star sex”, basically he wants to try anal and she won’t let him while sober.
Their house was icky! I am not a neat freak, but I am not a slob either. Their carpet was vacuumed but the linoleum had not seen a mop in many moons. Their bathroom was hideous, as in a hover only zone. Ugh, a splash of bleach would have done wonders for the orangeness that is their toilet. My neat freak mother would have had a stroke.
Maybe we should invite them to our abode so they can see how real people live, spatter free floors and clean toilets.
